Who is eligible and how much does the scholarship cover?

  • Who can apply: Any student accepted to or enrolled in a HERO school.

  • Coverage: Scholarships cover up to 75% of tuition. Families are responsible for the remaining balance (minimum 25%).

Application Timeline

  • Window: Applications are accepted June 1 – October 31, 2026.

  • Selection: Awards are granted at the end of each month.

  • Priority: Priority is given to low-income students, followed by all other applicants.

  • Waitlist: This process repeats monthly until the allocated funds for your specific school are depleted.

Notification & Payment

  • Decisions: HERO emails award notifications to families and schools within two weeks after the month ends.

  • Disbursement: Once awarded, HERO sends the funds directly to the school on a monthly basis.

  • Tuition Credit: The school applies these funds directly to the student’s tuition account.

Funding Allocation (Transparency Policy)

Note: This section explains how funds are distributed among schools.

  • Each HERO school who has raised matching funds will receive a specific allocation of the $100,000 total pool.

  • Allocations are based on the funds each school raised during the fundraising window (Jan–May 2026).

  • If the total raised by all schools exceeds the $100,000 cap, each school receives a proportionate match.

The HERO Scholarship Fund

The HERO Project has started a scholarship fund to help more people access high-quality Christian education.

We have over $100,000 available in matching grant funds to go towards tuition at a HERO partner school!

HERO scholarships are available for students accepted to or enrolled in current HERO Partner Schools. Scholarship funds are distributed through participating schools and applied directly to student tuition accounts.

Families interested in scholarship support should first connect with the HERO Partner School they currently attend or hope to attend. HERO scholarship funds are school-specific and are distributed through participating HERO schools. Joining this list allows us to send updates, but it does not replace the school’s application process.

If you represent a school that is not currently a HERO Partner School, please select that option in the form to join the HERO Scholarship Fund List. HERO is not currently opening scholarship funds to outside schools, but we may follow up later with information about joining the HERO network.
